Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance leader to oversee the QA department in the plastic manufacturing environment, with mandatory pharmaceutical experience. The role focuses on maintaining ISO standards, driving improvements, and ensuring product quality across processes.

You will liaise with auditors, manage customer complaints and audits, and lead training for staff while aligning with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in any field.
• 7–8 years experience in QA in plastic manufacturing, with pharma exposure required.
• Experience with ISO 9001/GMP/HACCP/ISO 22000 is a plus.
• Familiar with plastic packaging and injection molding.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation of QA department.
• Oversee quality functions across manufacturing and ISO procedures.
• Initiate continuous improvement to boost productivity and quality.
• Create quality systems and procedures for compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with customers' auditors and ensure corrective actions.
• Handle customer complaints.
• Manage customer audits and external bodies.
• Communicate QA criteria with customers.
• Involve in new product development and corrective actions.
• Establish quality review criteria and staff performance metrics.
• Identify training needs and arrange staff development.
• Prepare monthly and yearly QA performance reports.

• a) Responsible for overall Quality Assurance Department smooth operations.
• b) Responsible for the quality functions for the entire manufacturing operations and the implementation of ISO and quality procedure.
• c) Propose, initiate and implement continuous improvement plan or activities to improve productivity and overall quality assurance.
• d) Create quality systems and procedures for continuous improvement and compliance to national and international standard regulatory requirements.
• e) Liaising with customers' auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications.
• f) Handle customer complaints.
• g) Manage customer audits and external body audits.
• h) Communicate with customers and QA department regarding setting up of checking criteria for products.
• i) Involve in new product development, corrective and preventive action with manufacturing department.
• j) Establish criteria for quality review and staff performance review.
• k) Identifying relevant quality-related training needs and facilitate either internal or external training for staff development when necessary.
• l) Prepare monthly and yearly report with regards to Quality Assurance Department performance (i.e. customer complaint report).

Job Requirements:-

• a) Minimum Bachelor Degree in any studies
• b) Minimum 7-8 years experience in QA department of plastic manufacturing, with experience in Pharmaceutical is a mandatory.
• c) Experience in ISO 9001/GMP/HACCP/ISO 22000 will be an added advantage.
• d) Familiar with plastic packaging products and injection molding processes is an added advantage.
• e) Leadership style and interpersonal skills suitable for directing, training and motivating subordinate staff.
• f) Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
• g) Computer literate and able to work under pressure.
