Job summary

NCT Group in Malaysia's Selangor region is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead research, sourcing, negotiation and procurement of construction materials, supplies and equipment. You will establish professional relationships with clients, vendors and suppliers and oversee daily purchasing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management or related business studies.
• 6–8 years of managerial experience preferably in construction related industry.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management and procurement planning skills.
• Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Research, source, negotiate and purchase construction materials following policies and procedures.
• Establish relationships with clients, vendors and suppliers.
• Manage daily purchasing: planning, issuing and tracking purchase orders.
• Maintain inventories and pricing records; update delivery databases.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery; review supplier quality.
• Forecast price movements and develop longer-term procurement strategies.
• Coordinate with Project & Contract teams to optimize pricing and quantities.
• Support project cost control activities related to procurement.

Responsible to research, source, negotiate and purchase construction/building materials, supplies and equipment following established purchasing policies & procedures, and optimizing price, delivery and terms.

Establish professional relationship with clients as well as vendors and suppliers.

Take charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on Purchase Orders delivery.

Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records as well as delivery information databases.

Verify all incoming Purchase Requisition submit to the department.

Track orders, ensure timely delivery and review quality of purchased products

Predict and forecast price movement and fluctuations.

Implement effective purchasing strategy by forecasting over a longer period or across projects

Make recommendations on policies and procedures as needed to improve on procurement performance and co-ordination with other departments.

Conducting periodic costing analysis, as and when required.

Conduct regular discussion with Project & Contract team to obtain optimum prices, ensure right products and right quantity is delivered.

Provide support to project cost control in procurement related activities.

Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management or any other business-related studies

At least 6-8 years of managerial experience preferably in construction related industry

Skills required: Critical Thinking, Coordination, Problem Solving, Negotiation Skills

Experience in vendor sourcing (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)

Expert in Microsoft Office & IFCA

Well versed in supply chain procedures

Attention to detail, positive, vibrant and good working attitude

Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin as this roles will required to liaise with our diverse client base and partners.
