Genetec Technology Berhad in Malaysia seeks a purchasing professional to coordinate all project purchasing activities, including sourcing components and services from local and overseas suppliers.
You will review requisitions, quotations and POs to ensure accuracy, compare pricing, negotiate terms, and monitor orders to meet project schedules. Collaboration with Project, Engineering, Production and Finance is essential for success.

This role involves handling and coordinating purchasing activities for all projects, including standard components, materials, parts and services from local and overseas suppliers. You will source, evaluate and develop new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, product quality and service support.
Key responsibilities

Source, evaluate and develop new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, product quality and service support
Review purchase requisitions, quotations and purchase orders to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with company requirements
Prepare and compare quotations, costing and pricing analysis for new and ongoing projects
Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, quality and other commercial terms to achieve cost savings and favourable purchasing conditions
Monitor purchase orders and supplier delivery schedules to ensure materials and components are delivered on time according to project requirements
Follow up closely on outstanding purchase orders, delayed deliveries, shortages, quality issues and other supplier-related matters, and coordinate with relevant departments for timely resolution
Work closely with Project, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Finance and other relevant departments to ensure purchasing activities support project schedules and operational requirements
Manage and maintain good working relationships with local and overseas suppliers, ensuring suppliers continuously meet requirements on quality, pricing, delivery and service
Conduct supplier performance evaluations periodically, including assessment of quality, delivery, pricing, responsiveness and overall supplier performance
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across procurement systems and documentation (e.g. PPR/PO trackers, supplier files, reports), ensuring data integrity for reporting and audit purposes.
About you
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Purchasing, Business Administration or a related field
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering or project-based environment
Experience in project purchasing and sourcing of technical components/materials will be an added advantage
Good negotiation, supplier management, communication and problem-solving skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse quotations, costing and supplier pricing
Good command of written and spoken English
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet tight project deadlines
Proactive self-starter who takes ownership of assigned categories/projects, with the potential to take on greater responsibility as the team scales
Mature, responsible, detail-oriented and able to work effectively with internal departments and external suppliers
