Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Purchasing/Procurement professional to manage end-to-end purchasing activities for construction materials and services.

The role requires coordinating with project teams, sourcing suppliers, negotiating terms, and ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining cost controls and accurate records. Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma or equivalent in Purchasing / Business Administration or suitably recognized field.
• 3-5 years working experience in related field.
• Well verse with the use of Microsoft Excel, Words etc.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and meticulous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire process in the planning of purchasing activities, including sourcing, liaising and negotiating with suppliers to obtain best price and service.
• Responsible for material delivery time and quality control, keeping necessary original records and price comparison sheets for procurement.
• To enquire and obtain quotation and procure construction materials/equipment/services requested by project or contract personnel.
• Responsible on purchasing requisition, quotation enquiries, issuance of purchase order and invoicing.
• Oversee purchasing operation and control spend and build a culture of long term saving on procurement cost.
• Communicate with site personnel for materials quality and ensure materials delivery on time.

Manage the entire process in the planning of purchasing activities, including sourcing, liaising and negotiating with suppliers to obtain best price and service, costing analysis, negotiate contracts, terms and deadline with vendors and suppliers.

Responsible for material delivery time and quality control, keeping necessary original records and price comparison sheets for procurement, conducting analysis and statistics, and reporting regularly

To enquire and obtain quotation and procure construction materials/equipment/services requested by project or contract personnel.

Responsible on purchasing requisition, quotation enquiries, issuance of purchase order and invoicing

Oversee purchasing operation and control spend and build a culture of long term saving on procurement cost

Communicate with site personnel for materials quality and ensure materials delivery on time

Handle all the documents handling such as official letter to request for quotation, comparison, issue purchase order and coordinate with account department for making payment to supplier etc

Familiar in forwarding and shipping terms is added advantage

Other duties to be performed as and when required by the superior

Qualifications & experience

Degree / Diploma or equivalent in Purchasing / Business Administration or suitably recognized field that is applicable

3-5 years working experience in related field

Well verse with the use of Microsoft Excel, Words etc.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills and meticulous

Good knowledge in construction procurement processes

Ability to work well in a team and independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously

Candidate with experience work in building construction for architecture and ID works will be an advantage

Able to speak, read and write in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia. (In order to liaise with English & Mandarin speaking oversea suppliers)
