Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Executive to support purchasing and procurement activities for our construction projects. The role is responsible for sourcing construction materials, obtaining quotations, negotiating with suppliers, processing purchase orders, coordinating delivery arrangements, and ensuring timely procurement to support project operations. The successful candidate will work closely with project sites, suppliers, and internal departments to achieve cost efficiency, maintain quality standards, and support the company's procurement objectives while ensuring compliance with established SOPs, ISO requirements, and ESG standards.

Job Responsibilities

Handle all construction site purchasing duties.

Able to request for quotations, process order confirmations, expedite orders, coordinate delivery arrangements, and assist Accounts Payable in resolving payment-related matters.

Source and manage suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, product quality, and service standards.

Identify new suppliers and recommend alternative sourcing options.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while evaluating and managing supplier performance.

Evaluate opportunities for cost reduction and procurement savings.

Establish, review, and revise purchasing-related procedures, checklists, workflows, and documentation.

Review and improve purchasing processes periodically to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Prepare material budgets and procurement forecasts.

Ensure compliance with the Company's SOPs, ISO requirements, and ESG standards.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, or equivalent qualification in any field.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.

Experience in construction building material purchasing is preferred.

Strong negotiation and sourcing skills will be an added advantage.

Good interpersonal and communication skills to ensure effective coordination between Headquarters and project sites.

Able to travel and visit project sites when required.

Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
