MATRIX PARTNER SDN BHD is seeking a Purchasing Executive to manage purchasing activities for construction projects, source materials and subcontractor services, and ensure timely delivery at optimal cost and quality.
The role involves negotiating terms, evaluating suppliers, coordinating with multiple departments, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin supports liaising with diverse stakeholders.
The Purchasing Executive is responsible for managing the company's purchasing activities, sourcing materials, equipment, subcontractor services, and suppliers to ensure projects receive the required resources on time, at the right cost, and according to the required quality and specifications.
Handle purchasing activities for construction/project requirements, including materials, tools, equipment, and services
Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on price, quality, delivery time, and reliability
Request quotations, compare prices, negotiate terms, and prepare purchase orders
Coordinate with Project, Site, QS, Store, and Finance departments to understand purchasing requirements
Ensure materials and equipment are purchased according to approved specifications, quantities, and project schedules
Monitor purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
Maintain good relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers
Check quotations, invoices, delivery orders, and other purchasing documents for accuracy
Negotiate payment terms, delivery schedules, discounts, and other commercial conditions
Maintain proper purchasing records, supplier databases, quotations, and purchase orders
Diploma/Degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field
Relevant experience in construction, subcontractor, engineering, M&E, or project-based companies is preferred
Good negotiation, communication, and supplier-management skills
Familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and SQL software
Able to work independently and manage multiple purchase orders and deadlines
Good knowledge of construction materials and suppliers is an advantage
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin to liaise with diverse clients, suppliers, or associates
