Job summary

ECO Group of Companies in Malaysia is seeking a Project Manager to ensure successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of projects in interior design and renovation. You will deliver timely, accurate project information to senior management and stakeholders.

The role requires strong leadership, ability to question assumptions, resolve conflicts, and coordinate with clients and subcontractors. Willingness to be stationed at outstation locations as needed is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in interior design, fit-out, renovation, or related field.
• Must show initiative, responsibility, and ability to work independently.
• Good communication, self-motivation, and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to travel and outstation as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle project execution from planning to closeout.
• Lead site mobilization, logistics planning, and maintain documentation systems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and manage permits and construction activities.
• Oversee resources (labour, equipment, materials) and coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors.
• Monitor safety protocols and perform regular quality inspections.
• Control budgets, track costs, and manage site material inventory.
• Provide regular progress reports to management and clients.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for project challenges.
• Ensure successful handover with completed documentation and client communication.

The Project Manager will ensure the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of projects. This position requires a combination of skills, including the ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions, and resolve conflicts, in addition to strong management capabilities. The Project Manager is tasked with delivering timely, accurate, consistent, and updated project information to senior management and stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle project execution, from planning to closeout, ensuring timelines, costs, and quality standards are met.

Lead site mobilization, logistics planning, and ensure all documentation systems are in place.

Ensure regulatory compliance, manage permits, and ensure all construction activities adhere to regulations.

Oversee resource management (labor, equipment, materials) and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors.

Monitor safety, enforce protocols, and perform regular quality inspections.

Control project budgets, track costs, and ensure site material inventory is effectively managed.

Provide regular communication and progress reports to management and clients.

Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and handle project challenges as they arise.

Ensure successful project handover with completed documentation and proper client communication.

Must be willing to be stationed at outstation locations if required for project execution.

Undertake other assigned tasks as required.

Job Requirements

Preferably minimum 5 years of working experience in the interior design, fit-out, or renovation industry, or a related field is required for this position.

Candidate must have initiative, responsible, hardworking and can work independently.

Good communication, self-motivated and interpersonal skill.

Willing to travel and preferably willing to work outstation as and when is required.

Preferably candidates who are proficient in Microsoft Project.
