Job summary

Wingspan International (M) Sdn Bhd – Petaling is seeking an interior designer to conceptualise and develop design concepts for residential and commercial projects, and to prepare floor plans, elevations and 3D visualisations. The role includes site measurements and presenting proposals to clients.

You will work with project managers to source materials, manage budgets, and ensure timelines and specifications are met while delivering high-quality design solutions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
• 2–3 years of professional interior design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualise and develop interior design concepts and mood boards for residential and commercial projects.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, floor plans, elevations and 3D visualisations using industry-standard design software.
• Conduct site measurements and assessments to understand space constraints and project requirements.
• Present design proposals to clients and incorporate feedback into refined design solutions.
• Select materials, finishes, furniture and colour schemes that align with budgets and objectives.
• Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure design implementation meets specifications and timelines.
• Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
• Research and stay updated on current interior design trends and sustainable practices.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and design files for reference.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source products and negotiate pricing.

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field
• Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in interior design, preferably in residential and/or commercial projects
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools
• Strong knowledge of design principles, colour theory, spatial planning and material selection
• Excellent drawing and visualisation skills with the ability to communicate design ideas clearly
• Understanding of building codes, safety regulations and sustainable design practices
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and team members
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
