Jora Malaysia is seeking a proactive Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Management Team in planning, coordinating, executing and monitoring projects. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities include assisting in project coordination, attending site meetings, conducting site inspections, and preparing progress reports.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Management Team in planning, coordinating, executing, and monitoring projects. This role is to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, landlords, mall management, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Monitor project deliverables and timelines to ensure timely completion.
Attend and coordinate regular site meetings with contractors, consultants, landlords, and relevant stakeholders.
Prepare meeting agendas, record minutes, and follow up on action items.
Communicate project updates and ensure agreed actions are implemented.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Identify defects, construction issues, or non-conformance and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor contractor performance and adherence to project schedules.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
Maintain accurate records of site activities, project status, inspections, photographs, and correspondence.
Report project risks, delays, and mitigation plans to the Senior Project Manager.
Prepare site completion reports and ensure all defect rectification works are completed satisfactorily.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, resource utilization, and overall progress.
Assist in evaluating variations, claims, and change orders.
Track procurement activities and material deliveries.
Support cost control initiatives and budget monitoring.
Review contracts, specifications, and project documentation.
Participate in inspections, meetings, project handovers, and quality assurance activities.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with contractors, consultants, landlords, and stakeholders.
Assist in resolving project issues and challenges effectively.
Provide regular project performance updates to the Senior Project Manager.
Carry out any other duties assigned by Management from time to time.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Professional certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager) will be an added advantage.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in construction, property development, engineering, or related industries.
Experience in managing multiple projects or retail at various locations is preferred.
Technical Skills – Project panning, scheduling, supervision, inspection, monitoring, contract administration, budget and cost monitoring, quality assurance and control.
Soft skills - Strong leadership, coordination skills, excellent communication, interpersonal abilities, analytical thinking, decision-making, time management, effective negotiation, strong attention to detail, proactive problem solving, team player and positive attitude.
Knowledgeable in local building regulations and statutory requirements.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with AutoCAD and construction drawings is a must.
Frequent travel to project sites.
Combination of office-based and site-based work.
May require extended working hours during critical project phases.
Required to attend frequent meetings with contractors, landlord, complex, consultants and regulatory authorities.
