Job summary

Teck Guan Group in Tawau, Sabah, seeks a Project Manager / Project Engineer (Construction) to plan, coordinate and oversee construction projects from planning through completion. The role requires reading drawings, AutoCAD proficiency and strong negotiation with contractors and suppliers.

Candidate should have a Diploma/Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field, 5–7 years in construction/project management, and be willing to travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Building or related fields.
• Preferably 5–7 years of relevant experience in construction, project management, project engineering, site management or related fields.
• Candidates with relevant hands‑on construction experience are encouraged to apply.
• Able to read and understand architectural, structural and construction drawings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and able to prepare/amend basic drawings.
• Experience in sourcing contractors, obtaining quotations and comparing contractor prices is an advantage.
• Good understanding of construction materials, methods and site practices.
• Strong planning, coordination, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks/projects.
• Willing to travel to project sites when required.
• Possess a valid driving licence.
• Ability to speak Mandarin, English and Malay to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders is highly preferred.
