ASIAWELL CONSTRUCTION SDN. BHD. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring timely delivery across high-rise, residential, and commercial sites in Malaysia.
You will coordinate project teams, contractors, consultants, and suppliers, monitor progress, safety, and regulatory compliance, and help prepare progress reports and site documentation. Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or degree in civil engineering or related field, with 3–6 years of
Assist the Project Manager in planning, managing, and executing construction projects from commencement to completion. Develop and monitor project plans, construction schedules, budgets, and key milestones. Coordinate and lead project teams, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
Key responsibilities
Monitor daily site progress, workmanship, quality, safety, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications
Identify potential project risks, delays, technical issues, and site constraints, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions
Communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, authorities, and senior management
Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant Malaysian laws, regulations, contract requirements, approved plans, and industry standards
Monitor project costs, progress claims, variations, materials, manpower, and resource utilisation
Attend site meetings and assist in preparing progress reports, meeting minutes, site reports, and other project documentation
Troubleshoot construction and technical issues and ensure timely follow-up and resolution
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the project team to achieve project objectives
Promote a strong culture of accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement on site
About you
Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or a related field; Bachelor's Degree is preferred
3-6 years of relevant experience in construction or project management, preferably in high-rise, residential, condominium, or commercial projects
Proven experience in assisting or managing construction projects from commencement to completion
Hands-on experience in at least two core functions, such as technical coordination, quantity surveying/cost control, site operations, or project planning
Strong understanding of construction processes, project scheduling, cost control, quality management, and site coordination
Good knowledge of relevant Malaysian construction, engineering, occupational safety, and regulatory requirements
Excellent leadership, team coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with different levels of stakeholders
Analytical, proactive, and able to identify project risks and resolve site issues effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project, or other project management software is an advantage
CIDB Green Card and relevant safety certifications will be an added advantage
Able to work independently, under pressure, and meet project deadlines
Willing to travel to and work at project sites as required
Required languages: Bahasa Melayu, English, and Mandarin, with the ability to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders
