Job summary

Sena Traffic Systems Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Construction Manager to lead on-site construction projects in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time, on-site role with strategic ownership of delivery, budgets and quality.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction/project management, with a Diploma/Degree in a related field, and proficiency in project management software and MS Office. Driving license and willingness to work on-site are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in construction or project management.
• Formal qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong knowledge of building & ELV methods and materials.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, safety regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and coordinate all aspects of construction projects from inception through to completion.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, budgets and resource allocations.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and expectation management.
• Monitor project progress against key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings and progress reports.
• Get building permits and follow local laws.
• Solve on-site problems and handle change orders.
• Enforce Health and Safety rules on the job site.
• Lead and supervise construction teams, subcontractors and external partners.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues promptly.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
• Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.

About the role

Sena Traffic Systems Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Construction Manager to lead and oversee our construction projects in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position based on-site in Kota Kinabalu, where you will take strategic ownership of project delivery, ensuring all initiatives are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is pivotal to our operations, directly impacting client satisfaction and the company's reputation in the construction and traffic systems industry.

Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in construction or project management within the construction industry

Formal qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (Diploma or Degree preferred)

Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications

Strong knowledge of building <&E, ELV methods and materials

Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, safety regulations and industry standards

Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop staff

Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships

Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure

Valid driver's license and willingness to spend time on construction sites

Knowledge of traffic systems or infrastructure projects is advantageous
