Job summary

Mega City Builder Sdn Bhd, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, seeks an experienced Construction Manager on a contract basis to oversee planning, resourcing, quality and safety across projects. You will lead on-site teams, manage budgets and coordinate with architects, engineers and subcontractors to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires strong leadership, 5+ years in construction management, and a professional qualification in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Construction Manager or similar role on medium to large-scale projects.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules and resources effectively.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and safe work environments.
• Experience coordinating with architects, engineers and subcontractors.

About the role

Mega City Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing team based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a contract position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects. As Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution, from planning and resource management to quality control and safety compliance. This position is fundamental to maintaining our reputation for excellence and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and scheduling construction activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Managing on-site teams, including subcontractors and labourers, to maintain productivity and quality standards
• Monitoring project progress and producing regular reports for senior management and clients
• Implementing and enforcing health and safety procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
• Managing project budgets and controlling costs whilst minimising waste
• Coordinating with architects, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met
• Conducting site inspections and quality audits to maintain the highest standards of workmanship
• Resolving on-site issues and managing changes to project scope in consultation with relevant parties
• Maintaining comprehensive project documentation including contracts, permits and records
• Ensuring effective communication between all project stakeholders throughout the construction process

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Construction Manager or in a similar construction management role on medium to large-scale projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques and best practice within the construction industry
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and resources effectively
• Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and demonstrated commitment to maintaining safe work environments
• Experience managing teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders and subcontractors
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
• Valid driving licence and willingness to work on-site
• Experience working on construction projects in Malaysia is highly desirable
