Job summary

MITIME CONSTRUCTION MALAYSIA SDN BHD in Sungai Siput, Perak is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a substation construction from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. You will coordinate activities, manage teams, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong planning, budgeting and communication skills, with PMP or equivalent certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management.
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proficiency with project management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and direct all project activities to meet timelines and budgets.
• Develop comprehensive project schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors for seamless execution.
• Monitor progress and maintain detailed project documentation.
• Manage project finances, including cost estimation, budgeting and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Conduct site inspections and quality assurance to maintain standards.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join MITIME CONSTRUCTION MALAYSIA SDN BHD. This is a full-time position based in Sungai Siput, Perak. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing construction project of a substation from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is strategically important to our organisation, as it directly impacts project success, client satisfaction, and the overall reputation of MITIME CONSTRUCTION MALAYSIA SDN BHD. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating all project activities, managing teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Planning, organising, and directing all project activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints
• Developing comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
• Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution
• Monitoring project progress and maintaining detailed records of all project activities and documentation
• Managing project finances, including cost estimation, budget tracking, and financial reporting
• Ensuring all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
• Conducting site inspections and quality assurance checks to maintain construction standards
• Communicating project status updates to stakeholders and senior management
• Identifying and resolving project risks and issues in a timely manner
• Leading and motivating project teams to achieve objectives and maintain high performance standards

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management
• Demonstrated expertise in project planning, scheduling, and budget management for Substations
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, safety regulations, and building codes
• Proficiency in project management software and tools
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Leadership experience and the ability to manage and motivate teams
• Problem-solving capability and attention to detail
• Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent is preferred
