Job summary

FIT Future Innovation Technology Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a highly skilled Project Manager (Construction) to lead complex construction projects from inception to completion. You will plan, schedule, manage budgets, coordinate contractors and consultants, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, reporting to senior management.

The role requires minimum 5 years’ experience and a relevant degree; PMP or CIDB certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in construction project management.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
• Excellent project planning and scheduling skills, with PMP or CIDB preferred.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and oversee all aspects of assigned construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality specifications
• Manage project teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, fostering effective communication and collaboration
• Monitor project progress and performance metrics, preparing regular status reports for senior management and stakeholders
• Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise delays and cost overruns
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site
• Manage project documentation, including contracts, specifications, drawings, and correspondence
• Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure work meets agreed standards
• Handle budget forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly
• Prepare and submit invoices, claims, and other financial documentation as required

About the role

FIT Future Innovation Technology Sdn Bhd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager (Construction) to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position based in Penang, where you will take ownership of construction projects from inception through to completion. As Project Manager, you will play a crucial strategic role in ensuring that our construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position is fundamental to our operational success and directly impacts our reputation and profitability in the construction sector.

Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification

Minimum 5 years of proven experience in construction project management

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices

Excellent project planning and scheduling skills, with proficiency in project management software (such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar tools)

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail

Sound understanding of construction health and safety regulations and compliance requirements

Strong leadership and team management capabilities

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders

Proficiency in financial management, cost control, and budget forecasting

Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure

Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required

Preferred: Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CIDB registration
