Job summary

TransSystem Continental Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee civil works for electrical substation projects. You will ensure site execution aligns with technical specs and the client schedule, while coordinating with subcontractors and consultants to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and at least 2 years of project planning and control experience in civil construction or infrastructure.

• Contract term through April 2027.

Responsibilities

• Manage site projects and ensure works meet technical specs and client schedule.
• Report on project progress to Project Manager.
• Prepare and update the Project Work Program (WP).
• Coordinate work at site with subcontractors to client satisfaction according to contract and drawings.
• Raise RFQ for subcontracting.
• Attend meetings with client to report progress.
• Liaise with authorities for permit approvals.
• Prepare Method Statements (MS) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
• Coordinate with consultants and assist PM on design drawings.
• Provide coverage for PMU Teluk Kemang as needed.

EITA Resources Berhad acquired a 60% stake in TransSystem Continental Sdn Bhd (TSC) on 2016. TSC is embarking upon an exciting growth phase and as such we are seeking a Project Engineer to join our project team. You will be responsible for the project management and execution works at site are in accordance to technical specification to ensure TNB schedule within the timeline.

What will you be doing?

Stationed at site as and when required especially during critical work (concreting, inspection, lifting and etc).

To report on project progress to Project Manager (PM).

To come out with Project Work Program (WP) and to update the WP as site progress.

To coordinate work at site with appointed subcontractors to client's satisfaction according to contract, approved drawing and technical specifications.

To raise Request for Quotation (RFQ) for PM to subcontract.

To attend meeting with client to report on site progress.

To liaise with respective authority and client on permit approval.

To come out with Method Statement (MS) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for works to be conducted at site.

To laissez with client on Joint Measurement Sheet (JMS) and claims submission.

To coordinate with Consultant and assist PM on the design drawings to suite electrical equipment and design.

Will also provide support and coverage for PMU Teluk Kemang as needed.

Job Goal:

To ensure management of Civil Works portion of the projects acquired to be delivered on time and budget.

To ensure quality of works are to clients satisfaction according to technical specification.

To ensure safety aspects of works are recognized and according to client’s requirement.

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2 years of working experience in project planning and control in civil construction or infrastructure project.
• Willing to travel.
• Strong project management skills, good interpersonal skills and ability to provide solution for problem solving. At least 2 years of working experience to be eligible for RAA training requirement.
• Willing to accept contract term until April 2027.
