GESTOWN CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Project Manager for our Bintulu Division in Sarawak. This full-time role oversees projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and top-quality outcomes.

Requirements include 10+ years in construction PM, strong leadership and stakeholder management, knowledge of local Sarawak regulations, and English proficiency (Malay preferred). We offer development opportunities and a safety-focused environment.

About the role

GESTOWN CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in the Bintulu Division, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of our construction projects. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is fundamental to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the construction engineering sector and driving our strategic business objectives forward.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and scheduling project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within allocated parameters
• Managing project teams, including coordination with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and laborer's to ensure seamless project execution
• Monitoring project progress and performance against established metrics, making adjustments as necessary to maintain schedule and budget compliance
• Ensuring adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality assurance requirements throughout all project phases
• Conducting regular site inspections and audits to verify work quality and compliance with project specifications and contractual obligations
• Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and relevant authorities to maintain transparent communication and address concerns or change requests promptly
• Preparing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, financial records, and compliance documentation
• Managing project risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise potential delays or cost overruns
• Supervising procurement of materials and equipment whilst ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery
• Leading problem-solving efforts to resolve site challenges and maintain project momentum

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in construction project management or a related engineering field
• Proven track record in successfully managing large-scale construction projects from planning through to handover
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices
• Excellent project planning and organizational skills, with proficiency in project management software and tools
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and manage financial aspects of projects effectively
• Outstanding leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate and coordinate diverse teams
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and authorities
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in challenging or time-sensitive situations
• Relevant professional qualifications such as a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of local Sarawak regulations and construction practices would be highly advantageous
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential; knowledge of Malay or local languages is preferred
