About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join MITIME CONSTRUCTION MALAYSIA SDN BHD in a full-time capacity based in Sungai Siput, Perak. This is a pivotal role within our engineering team, where you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing electrical systems and solutions for our construction projects. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that all electrical installations meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications. Your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities will directly contribute to the successful delivery of our construction initiatives and the satisfaction of our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, schematics, and layouts for construction projects in accordance with industry standards and client requirements
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to evaluate electrical infrastructure and identify potential issues or areas for improvement
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for electrical installations and equipment
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into project designs
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems on-site
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and Malaysian building standards
• Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical systems to resolve faults and minimise downtime
• Manage electrical project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met and communicate technical information clearly
• Stay updated with the latest electrical engineering practices, technologies, and industry developments

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from a recognised institution
• TNB Experience or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
• Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sector
• Strong knowledge of electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools
• In-depth understanding of Malaysian electrical codes, building regulations, and safety standards
• Proficiency in preparing technical specifications, drawings, and project documentation
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
• Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting design, and renewable energy solutions is advantageous
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
