Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead construction and property development projects in Sabah, from pre-construction through handover, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and quality.

You will coordinate consultants, contractors, and authorities, manage the programme and budget, review plans and specs, and drive risk mitigation while maintaining compliance and reporting to management.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying is required.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant construction, property development, or project management experience.
• Proven track record delivering construction projects from inception to handover.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, cost control, quality management, and statutory requirements.
• Proven ability to coordinate consultants, contractors, authorities and multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Project Manager (Construction / Property Development)

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to join our team and lead the successful delivery of our construction and property development projects in Sabah. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from pre-construction and planning through to completion and handover, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage the end-to-end project delivery, from planning and pre-construction through to completion, testing, commissioning, and handover.

Coordinate and manage consultants, contractors, suppliers, authorities, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Monitor and control project programme, budget, cost, quality, and overall project performance to achieve established targets.

Review project plans, drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction methodologies to ensure proper execution.

Identify potential project risks, delays, technical issues, and cost implications, and implement effective solutions and mitigation measures.

Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, statutory requirements, and applicable safety standards.

Coordinate with relevant authorities and consultants to facilitate planning approvals, statutory submissions, inspections, certifications, and other regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular site and project meetings and ensure that agreed actions are properly followed up and implemented.

Monitor contractors' progress, workmanship, resources, and performance to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Prepare and provide regular project progress reports, cost updates, programme updates, and key project issues to management.

About you

Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in construction, property development, or project management.

Proven track record in managing and delivering construction projects from inception to completion and handover.

Strong understanding of construction processes, project scheduling, cost control, quality management, and statutory requirements.

Strong ability to coordinate and manage consultants, contractors, authorities, and multiple stakeholders.

Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Proactive, responsible, organised, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Strong ability to identify issues, provide practical solutions, and drive projects towards successful completion.

Willingness to travel and work at project sites when required.

Experience in Sabah construction or property development projects will be an added advantage.
