Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) with 3–5 years of experience in M&E engineering projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating, supervising, and delivering mechanical and electrical works across diverse projects in Malaysia.

This position requires strong technical knowledge, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. As part of the role, you will be expected to travel within Malaysia to oversee site activities, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

Project Planning & Coordination
  • Assist in preparing project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation for M&E works.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, and architectural teams to ensure smooth integration of M&E systems.
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to align project deliverables.
Design & Technical Review
  • Review mechanical and electrical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety codes, and client requirements.
  • Provide technical input during design development, tender preparation, and value engineering exercises.
Site Supervision & Execution
  • Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning of M&E systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, lifts, etc.).
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during construction and commissioning phases.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Provide regular updates and technical explanations to clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and documentation to management.
  • Attend meetings and represent the company professionally.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure all M&E works meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and testing to verify compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Implement corrective actions when deviations are identified.
Budget & Scheduling
  • Assist in preparing project budgets, cost estimates, and procurement schedules.
  • Track project progress against schedules and report deviations to senior management.
  • Support cost control and resource optimization initiatives.
  • Work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and site teams to achieve project goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Foster a collaborative and problem‑solving team environment.
Travel Requirement

To travel within Malaysia to oversee projects, attend site meetings, and support client engagements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • 3–5 years of experience in M&E engineering projects (commercial, industrial, or infrastructure).
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software is a plus.
  • Project coordination and scheduling abilities.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, lifts, and fire protection systems.
