Job summary

Omron Electronics Sdn Bhd is seeking an Automation Project Engineer to lead planning, development, and implementation of automation solutions for internal and external customers.

You will coordinate activities, provide technical consultation, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes and long-term growth of the project engineering department.

Qualifications

Experience in automation engineering, project execution, or a related technical field.
Strong understanding of automation solution planning, development, and implementation.
Ability to provide technical advice and coordinate projects with multiple stakeholders.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to departmental development.

Responsibilities

Lead the execution of automation solutions from planning through development and implementation for internal and external customers.

Job description

Lead the execution of automation solutions from planning through development and implementation for internal and external customers. This role also supports technical consultation, project coordination, junior engineer development, and the long-term growth of the project engineering department.

Key responsibilities

Plan, develop, and implement automation solutions for internal and external customers.
Coordinate project activities to ensure effective execution and delivery.
Provide technical consultation and support to the sales team.
Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver suitable solutions.
Coach, mentor, and support the development of junior engineers.
Contribute to the development and execution of long-term growth plans for the project engineering department.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and support timely resolution.

Project Execution

To Program development for PLC, touch panel, SCADA and etc; including testing and debugging control system integration and project consultation
To Generate/calibrate/approve IO listing and engineering drawings
To Configure, design, and program network intergration protocols, such as, modbus, Fins, Profibus, MQTT, EIP, EtherCAT.
To Attend Project kickoff and scheduling
To Carry out FAT (Factory Acceptant Test, SAT (Site Acceptance Test), site testing and commissioning.
To Plan, organize and conduct project meeting and training as and when needed.
To Plan, coordinate Engineer or subcontractor in executing site work, prepare field service report for field work.
