Job summary

Unit Concept Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Software and Control Systems Engineer to develop and integrate software and control systems, and to execute industrial automation and digitalization projects with guidance from a Senior Engineer or Project Manager.

You will engage with customers and vendors, design engineering solutions, test FAT/UAT, deploy on-site, and maintain project documentation while traveling domestically and internationally as required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in PLCs, SCADA/HMI, DCS, industrial networks and control system design.
• Knowledge in software development, databases, networking and system integration.
• Experience with industrial digitalization projects, including IIoT platforms, MES, data historians, data management applications, IT/OT cybersecurity, and cloud-based analytics and solutions will be an added advantage.
• Experience in project management and mobile app development will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to learn new knowledge and the ability to acquire new skills as needed.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and identify and resolve software and system issues.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and willing to work outside normal hours when required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for meetings and report writing.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (onshore and offshore).
• Valid driving license.
• Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English.

• Carry out site deployment and installation, and system testing and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and system issues, and perform on-site servicing, repairs, and system enhancements.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and project records.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Job description

You will be responsible for developing and integrating software and control systems, executing industrial automation and digitalization projects, as well as providing after-sales support, under the supervision and guidance of a Senior Engineer or Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Study project specifications to understand customer requirements.

Liaise with customers, vendors, and principals to address technical and commercial issues.

Maintain project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues.

Procure project materials, equipment, and arrange the required manpower in a timely manner.

Control project costs to minimize non-conformance costs.

Develop engineering and software designs based on project specifications.

Develop software applications, dashboards, control panels, and back-end services based on customer requirements and established coding standards.

Integrate software applications with control systems, hardware, databases, and industrial networks.

Perform in-house system testing, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and User Acceptance Tests (UAT).

Education & Experience:

Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant discipline.

Less than 3 years of experience in software development, industrial automation, control systems or a similar environment.

Skill/Knowledge & Requirements:
