Job summary

Wingspan International is seeking an experienced interior designer to conceptualise and realise designs for residential and commercial spaces in Shah Alam. You will develop mood boards, create floor plans and 3D visualisations, and collaborate with contractors to ensure accurate implementation.

The role requires 2–3 years of interior design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/SketchUp and a solid grasp of materials, sustainability and budgets. On-site coordination and documentation are essential.

Job description

This role involves conceptualising and developing interior design concepts for residential and commercial projects, preparing detailed design drawings, floor plans, elevations and 3D visualisations, and conducting site measurements and assessments to understand space constraints and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

Conceptualise and develop interior design concepts and mood boards for residential and commercial projects

Prepare detailed design drawings, floor plans, elevations and 3D visualisations using industry-standard design software

Conduct site measurements and assessments to understand space constraints and project requirements

Present design proposals to clients and incorporate feedback into refined design solutions

Select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures and colour schemes that align with project objectives and budgets

Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure design implementation meets specifications and timelines

Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising design quality

Research and stay updated on current interior design trends, materials and sustainable design practices

Maintain detailed project documentation and design files for reference and future projects

Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source products and negotiate pricing

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field

Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in interior design, preferably in residential and/or commercial projects

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools

Strong knowledge of design principles, colour theory, spatial planning and material selection

Excellent drawing and visualisation skills with the ability to communicate design ideas clearly

Understanding of building codes, safety regulations and sustainable design practices

Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and team members

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions

Flexibility and adaptability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
