Job summary

Q1 Interior Concept Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our team in Ara Damansara, Selangor. You will develop and execute interior design concepts for residential and commercial projects, collaborating with clients, project managers and contractors to deliver spaces that balance aesthetics and functionality.

You will prepare design drawings, mood boards, and 3D visualisations using industry software, and help manage timelines, budgets and sourcing to ensure delivered

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor\'s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in interior design, preferably in residential and/or commercial projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualise and develop interior design concepts and mood boards for residential and commercial projects.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, floor plans, elevations and 3D visualisations using industry-standard design software.
• Conduct site measurements and assessments to understand space constraints and project requirements.
• Present design proposals to clients and incorporate feedback into refined design solutions.
• Select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures and colour schemes that align with project objectives and budgets.
• Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure design implementation meets specifications and timelines.
• Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising design quality.
• Research and stay updated on current interior design trends, materials and sustainable design practices.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and design files for reference and future projects.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source products and negotiate pricing.

About the role

We are seeking a talented and creative Interior Designer to join our growing team at Q1 Interior Concept Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Ara Damansara, Selangor. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and executing interior design concepts for diverse client projects. You will work closely with clients, project managers and contractors to transform spaces into beautifully designed environments that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field
• Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in interior design, preferably in residential and/or commercial projects
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools
• Strong knowledge of design principles, colour theory, spatial planning and material selection
• Excellent drawing and visualisation skills with the ability to communicate design ideas clearly
• Understanding of building codes, safety regulations and sustainable design practices
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and team members
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Preferred: Experience with 3D rendering software, knowledge of Malaysian design market and experience in sustainable or eco-friendly design
