Job summary

ZW Packaging Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing activities at our Prai site. You will manage operators, schedule tasks, and ensure output meets targets while upholding quality and safety standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in production, with at least 2 years in supervision, and experience in packaging/wood-related manufacturing. Mandarin proficiency is highly preferred to coordinate with management and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in production or manufacturing.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience managing production operators or workers.
• Experience in paper packaging, carton manufacturing, wood processing, wooden crates, pallets, timber, or related manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience in a factory / production environment is required.
• Good understanding of daily production planning and manpower allocation.
• Able to read and understand work orders, production drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Basic knowledge of production machinery and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of 5S/6S, quality control, safety and continuous improvement.
• Basic knowledge of production KPI monitoring, including output, productivity, downtime, wastage, rejection, and rework.
• Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of ISO QMS / EMS is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities according to production schedules and work orders.
• Allocate manpower and assign daily tasks to operators and production workers.
• Monitor production output, productivity, quality, machine utilisation, and production efficiency.
• Ensure production targets and customer delivery requirements are achieved.
• Monitor production processes for paper packaging, carton/manufacturing products, wood processing, wooden crates, pallets, or related manufacturing activities.
• Ensure production is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Monitor material usage and minimise material wastage, rejection, and rework.
• Coordinate with Warehouse to ensure sufficient raw materials and production materials are available.
• Coordinate with Maintenance regarding machine breakdowns, equipment issues, and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Identify production problems and take immediate corrective action or elevate to the Production / Operation Manager.
• Work closely with QA/QC to ensure products meet quality requirements.
• Monitor employee attendance, discipline, work performance, and compliance with Company rules.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to operators and production workers.
• Ensure employees follow safety procedures and use the required PPE.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S/6S standards in the production area.
• Report abnormal situations involving production processes, products, machinery, equipment, safety, or manpower.
• Prepare daily production reports and provide updates on production performance and issues.
• Assist Management in implementing productivity, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties assigned by the superior or Management.

Job description

2. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Minimum SPM / SKM / Certificate / Diploma in Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, Industrial Management, or a related field.

Diploma or relevant technical qualification will be an added advantage.

Working Experience

Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in production or manufacturing.

At least 2 years of supervisory experience managing production operators or workers.

Experience in paper packaging, carton manufacturing, wood processing, wooden crates, pallets, timber, or related manufacturing industries is highly preferred.

5. Preferred Candidate Profile

We are looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor who can effectively manage workers, monitor daily production, solve operational issues, and ensure production targets are achieved.
