About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Leader to join Zhongda Shelf & Rack Technology (M) Sdn Bhd in Pasir Gudang, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing production operations and leading our manufacturing team. As Production Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe and productive working environment. This position is integral to our manufacturing operations and directly contributes to the success of our shelf and rack technology business.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure timely delivery of products and adherence to production schedules
• Monitor production output, quality standards and efficiency metrics to meet or exceed company targets and customer requirements
• Implement and maintain workplace safety protocols, ensuring all team members comply with health and safety regulations and company policies
• Train, mentor and develop production staff, providing guidance on best practices, machinery operation and quality control procedures
• Identify production bottlenecks and inefficiencies, proposing and implementing improvements to enhance operational performance
• Manage inventory and material flow to optimise production processes and minimise waste
• Conduct equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure machinery operates at peak performance
• Communicate production updates, challenges and performance reports to management and relevant departments
• Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes accountability, continuous improvement and employee engagement

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar leadership role within a manufacturing or logistics environment, ideally in the shelf racking or related industries
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling and quality control processes
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and workplace compliance requirements
• Proficiency in using production management systems and basic computer skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively across departments
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing production demands
• Certification in supervisory management or relevant manufacturing qualifications is advantageous
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies would strengthen your candidacy
