About the role

We are seeking a Production Leader to join our manufacturing facility in Kulai, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in our operations. As Production Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, managing a team of production staff, and ensuring that all manufacturing processes meet our exacting quality and safety standards. This role is pivotal to the success of our operations and offers the opportunity to make a real impact on our production efficiency and team performance.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and coordinating daily production activities on the production floor to ensure targets are met and quality standards are maintained
• Managing, training, mentoring and developing production team members to enhance skills and drive performance improvement
• Monitoring production schedules and equipment utilisation to optimise output and minimise downtime
• Implementing and maintaining safety protocols, ensuring full compliance with workplace health and safety regulations
• Identifying operational bottlenecks and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
• Conducting quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specified standards and customer requirements
• Maintaining accurate production records, documentation and reporting on key performance indicators
• Liaising with other departments including maintenance, quality assurance and planning to ensure smooth operations
• Addressing staff concerns and managing team morale to foster a positive and productive working environment
• Responding to production issues promptly and implementing corrective actions as needed

What we're looking for

• Proven supervisory or team leader experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally 3+ years in a similar capacity
• Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment operation and manufacturing best practices
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure
• Proficiency in production planning, scheduling and resource management
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards
• Competency in using production management systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing production demands
