About the role

The Company is seeking a talented Production Assistant Manager to join our manufacturing operations team in the rubber and plastic industry. This is a full-time position based in Subang Bestari, Selangor. In this role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are maintained across our manufacturing facilities. You will report to the General Manager and serve as a key link between senior management and production floor teams, contributing directly to the company's operational excellence and strategic manufacturing objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities, ensuring schedules are met and production targets are achieved
• Monitor production processes to maintain quality standards and identify opportunities for operational improvements
• Manage inventory levels and raw materials to support continuous production operations
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance procedures across the production floor
• Train, mentor, and provide performance feedback to production staff and operators
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime
• Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation for regulatory and operational purposes
• Communicate effectively with various departments to coordinate scheduling, quality control, and logistics
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing projects
• Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure all team members adhere to workplace safety protocols

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in production management or manufacturing operations at an operational or supervisory level3-5 years of experience in production management or manufacturing operations at an operational OR supervisory level
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and capacity management
• Demonstrated understanding of quality control procedures and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
• Proficiency in production management systems and basic computer skills (ERP systems preferred)
• Excellent leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
• Sound knowledge of occupational safety and health (OSH) regulations and best practices
• Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts, if required by operational demands
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within the facility as needed
