GSP Automotive Group is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our global sourcing team in Malaysia. You will manage supplier development, handle MRO purchasing, and oversee PRs, POs, RFQs, and delivery follow-ups across local and overseas suppliers.
The role requires a diploma or higher in SCM or related fields with at least two years in purchasing or supplier development, familiarity with ERP and MS Office, and Mandarin language skills for daily operations.
Job Responsibilities
1. Supplier Development:Develop, evaluate and maintain local and overseas suppliers, including sourcing new and alternative suppliers.
2. Product Sampling:Handle RFQ, quotation comparison, negotiation and sample submission for new products/materials, and follow up on testing and approval.
3. MRO / Spot Purchasing:Handle daily MRO and spot purchasing, including production consumables, spare parts, hardware/tools, PPE and office supplies.
4. Purchasing & Order Management:Manage PRs, POs, RFQs, quotation comparisons and delivery follow-ups, and resolve purchasing issues promptly.
5. Cost & Supplier Management:Conduct price and commercial negotiations, control purchasing costs, and monitor supplier performance in terms of price, quality and delivery.
6. Cross-functional Coordination:Coordinate purchasing matters with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Engineering and Finance departments, and perform other duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements
1. Education & Experience
Diploma or above in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials, International Trade or related fields. Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing or supplier development. Manufacturing or automotive industry experience is preferred.
2. Professional Skills
Familiar with MRO purchasing processes and supplier management with good inquiry and price comparison capability; proficient in procurement systems such as ERP and Microsoft Office with accurate and efficient data entry.
3. Language Skills
Chinese as working language with fluent Mandarin; basic English reading and writing is preferred; familiarity with the local Malaysian market and supplier resources is preferred.
4. Overall Competencies
Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, analytical and time management skills. Detail-oriented and responsible, with the ability to work independently and handle urgent or ad-hoc purchasing requirements.
