GSP Automotive Group in Malaysia seeks a hands-on Quality Engineer to monitor and improve in-process quality for automotive mechanical parts. You will perform SPC, MSA, and Cpk analyses, lead 8D investigations, and drive continual quality improvements across new product introductions and supplier audits.
The role requires a Diploma or higher in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, 3+ years in automotive quality, and CAD proficiency.
Monitor and improve in-process quality for automotive mechanical parts ;
perform SPC, MSA, and Cpk analysis;
lead root-cause investigation and corrective actions (8D).
Maintain and continuously improve the IATF 16949 quality management system;
prepare and support internal audits, second-party audits, and external certification audits.
Lead APQP activities for new parts and new processes;
complete PPAP submissions and obtain customer approvals;
review control plans, PFMEA, and work instructions.
Handle customer complaints, lead 8D reports, and track closure;
conduct supplier audits and follow up on incoming material quality issues.
Prepare quality documents (control plans, FMEA, inspection standards);
train production operators on quality standards and process requirements.
Drive cost-of-quality reduction through process optimization, scrap reduction, and yield improvement projects.
Submit weekly and monthly quality KPIs (scrap rate, customer complaints, audit findings) to plant management and HQ.
Work closely with Production, R&D, Supply Chain, and Chinese HQ technical team to resolve quality issues.
1.Able to communicate in Chinese (Mandarin) for daily work with HQ and Chinese-speaking management.
2.Diploma or above in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
3. 3+ years of hands-on quality engineering experience in automotive mechanical parts manufacturing.
4.Solid understanding of production processes.
5.Practical experience in process quality management (SPC, MSA, control plans, FMEA).
6.Working knowledge of IATF 16949 standard;
7.Experience participating in or leading internal/external audits.
8.Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD / SolidWorks / UG / CATIA — at least one).
9.Has led or co-led at least one internal or external audit end-to-end.
