Job summary

Armstrong Auto Parts Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a procurement professional to manage PO issuance in SAP, follow up direct material purchases locally and for import. You will liaise with suppliers on quality and delivery and coordinate with Logistics on shipments.

Responsibilities include expediting shortages, monitoring stock, negotiating with suppliers, participating in cross-functional projects, and supporting cost analysis such as PPV.

Qualifications

• Academic qualifications – Degree
• Min 3 years experience in procurement or supply chain management in direct purchasing in manufacturing
• Strong MS PowerPoint and Excel with data analysis and pivoting abilities

Responsibilities

• PIC for P/O issuance in SAP and delivery follow up for local/import direct material purchases
• Provide information to superior for issues related to suppliers (quality and delivery)
• Follow shipping documents from suppliers; coordinate Logistics on shipment
• Expedite shortages, pull in and monitor stock
• Follow up on shortages and replacement of rejected parts with suppliers
• Participate in crossfunctional teams for new Direct Material Purchase projects
• Follow up with Finance on outstanding supplier payment emails
• Improve and lean the purchasing process and close gaps
• Coordinate with Store and Finance on GPRO and invoicing issues
• Follow up with Costing for parts without pricing or stop supply
• Provide clarification for monthly Purchase Price Variance (PPV)
• Attend all purchasing meetings if superior is unavailable
• Open PR, monitor PO, and prepare monthly department reporting
• Ensure all MRP POs issued within 3 working days per KPI
• Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular assessments with Vendor Management
• Perform other tasks as directed

Job description

PIC for P/O issuance in SAP, delivery follow up for local/import direct material purchases

Support to provide info to superior for all issues related with suppliers with regards to quality and delivery

Follow up the shipping documents from suppliers and work closely with Logistics on shipment arrangement

Shortage parts expediting, pull in and stock monitoring

Follow up on shortage and reject parts replacement with suppliers

Participate in cross-functional teams for new project related to Direct Material Purchase

Follow up with Finance for outstanding payment email from suppliers

Continues make improvement and lean the purchasing process and close the gap if any

Laisse with Store and Finance on all the issues related to GPRO and invoicing

Follow up closely with Costing team for Part required which no pricing and stop supply from supplier

Provide clarification for monthly Purchase Price Variance (PPV) if any

Attending all meetings pertaining to purchasing if superior not available

Open PR, PO monitoring and prepare monthly department reporting

Ensure all MRP PO issued within 3 working days as per KPI set

Evaluate supplier performance and work with Vendor Management to conduct regular assessments

Perform other tasks or activities as directed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Academic Qualifications – Degree

Experience - Min 3 years experience in procurement or supply chain management, particularly in direct purchasing under manufacturing environment

Key Skills/Knowledge – Excellent presentation skills using MS Power Point and strong background in Microsoft Excel with strong knowledge in Data Analysis and Pivoting. Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions. Able to work under pressure and ability to manage multi tasks and work

Preference Language: Bahasa Melayu, English, Mandarin (proficient in Mandarin is an advantage)

Possess a valid driving license
