Job summary

GRAND MELTIQUE FOOD TRADING SDN. BHD. is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and team management in Johor, Malaysia. You will oversee budgets, drive cost-saving initiatives, and ensure timely procurement to support business growth.

The role requires building strong supplier partnerships, optimizing inventory, and enforcing procurement policies and ethical standards across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with business objectives.
• Lead supplier selection, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
• Oversee purchasing team, set performance targets, ensure timely procurement.
• Manage procurement budgets, monitor expenditure, and drive cost savings.
• Establish strategic supplier partnerships for quality and reliable supply.
• Oversee inventory planning and demand forecasting to optimise stock.
• Establish procurement policies, procedures, and performance indicators.
• Analyse procurement performance, market trends, and supplier risks.
• Lead continuous improvement of procurement systems and processes.
• Ensure compliance with policies, laws, and ethical sourcing standards.

Job description

Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with the company's business objectives and operational requirements.

Lead supplier selection, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management to secure competitive pricing and favourable purchasing terms.

Oversee the purchasing team, establish performance targets, and ensure procurement activities are completed effectively and on schedule.

Manage procurement budgets, monitor expenditure, and implement cost-saving strategies to improve overall profitability.

Establish and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to ensure product quality, supply reliability, and long-term business value.

Oversee inventory planning and demand forecasting in collaboration with relevant departments to maintain optimal stock levels and minimise excess inventory.

Establish procurement policies, procedures, and performance indicators to strengthen internal controls and improve operational efficiency.

Analyse procurement performance, market trends, and supplier risks to support management decisions and identify business improvement opportunities.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives involving procurement systems, sourcing processes, and supply chain coordination.

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, applicable laws, and ethical sourcing standards.

Grand Meltique Food Trading Sdn Bhd was established in the year of 2008. In the beginning, our company was started as a food wholesale, and since then we have transferred into diversified food wholesale. Our customers come from different area, which of them include Japanese cuisine catering, Korean restaurants, hotels, steamboat mobile car, frozen retailer shops, giant supermarkets, Chinese restaurants, snacks shops, cafes, steamboat restaurants, and online shopping sellers. In 2014, we have invested 8100 feet of the plant and construct 20,000 cubic feet of cold storage to cope up with the rapid development and the increasing population of southern Johor Iskandar Malaysia.
