Skyhigh Globalsoft in Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and supplier relations across Malaysia and China, ensuring timely supply for production and operations.

You will negotiate terms, manage PO processes, monitor performance, and drive cost-saving initiatives while coordinating with Warehouse, Production, Sales, Finance and Operations to optimise inventory and supplier performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement/supply chain experience.
  • 2–3 years of supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, textile, furniture, bedding or related industries an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin due to regular China-based supplier communication.
  • Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier-management skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, inventory planning and supply chain operations.
  • Experience with overseas sourcing and international shipment coordination is preferred.
  • Familiarity with import documentation and freight arrangements is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/purchasing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business needs.
  • Lead strategic sourcing and supplier selection activities.
  • Evaluate, develop and manage suppliers based on pricing, quality, reliability and delivery.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times and MOQ with suppliers, including China-based vendors.
  • Prepare and approve purchase orders based on inventory plans and production schedules.
  • Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely production and delivery.
  • Draft and finalize procurement contracts and supply agreements.
  • Monitor supplier compliance with pricing, quality and delivery requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers and conduct supplier evaluations.
  • Identify alternative suppliers and contingency plans to minimise disruptions.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse, Production, Sales, Finance and Operations to optimise inventory levels.
  • Monitor material shortages and slow-moving inventory; manage purchasing costs.
  • Conduct market research, price benchmarking and cost analysis.
  • Lead cost-saving and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor raw material prices, exchange rates and freight costs; adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Coordinate with Finance on payment terms and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, approvals and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records of suppliers, quotations, PO, contracts and approvals.
  • Prepare procurement reports and supplier performance reports for Management.
  • Lead and mentor junior procurement team members where applicable.
  • Establish procurement procedures and performance standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial terms, controlling purchasing costs and ensuring timely supply of materials to support the Company’s production and operational requirements.

The role will work closely with suppliers in Malaysia and China, as well as internal teams including Warehouse, Production, Sales, Finance and Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business and operational requirements.
  • Lead strategic sourcing and supplier selection activities.
  • Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers based on pricing, quality, reliability, capacity and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQ and other commercial terms.
  • Communicate and negotiate with local and China-based suppliers on quotations, product specifications, order quantities, production progress, shipment schedules and quality issues.
  • Prepare, review and approve Purchase Orders based on inventory plans, sales forecasts and production schedules.
  • Monitor outstanding Purchase Orders and ensure timely production and delivery.
  • Draft, review and finalise procurement contracts and supply agreements.
  • Monitor supplier compliance with agreed pricing, quality and delivery requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews, site assessments and supply-risk assessments.
  • Identify alternative suppliers and develop contingency plans to minimise supply disruptions.
  • Work closely with Warehouse, Production, Sales, Finance and Operations to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Monitor and prevent material shortages, excessive stockholding and slow-moving inventory.
  • Conduct market research, price benchmarking, quotation comparisons and purchasing cost analysis.
  • Lead cost-saving and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor raw material prices, exchange rates, freight costs and market conditions affecting procurement costs.
  • Coordinate with Finance on supplier payment terms, credit limits and payment schedules.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Company policies, approval limits, internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of suppliers, quotations, Purchase Orders, contracts, pricing and procurement approvals.
  • Prepare procurement reports, spending analysis, cost-saving reports and supplier performance reports for Management.
  • Lead, guide and supervise junior procurement team members where applicable.
  • Establish procurement procedures, performance standards and team responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management.
  • At least 2–3 years of supervisory or managerial experience is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, textile, furniture, bedding or related industries will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is required due to regular communication and negotiation with China-based suppliers.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving and supplier-management skills.
  • Good knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, inventory planning and supply chain operations.
  • Experience in overseas sourcing, import purchasing and international shipment coordination is preferred.
  • Familiarity with import documentation, freight arrangements and Customs procedures is an added advantage.
  • Able to analyse quotations, purchasing trends, supplier performance and procurement costs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory or purchasing systems is an added advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple orders and priorities.
  • Able to work independently, meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with different departments.
  • Strong leadership qualities with high integrity, accountability and attention to detail.
