Job summary

Berkayapak Sdn Bhd is seeking a procurement professional in Penang to forecast demand, monitor inventory, and drive cost competitiveness. You will source suppliers, review quotations, and coordinate with internal teams to meet product requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business management, procurement, supply chain management, or related field.
• At least 2 years' procurement & sourcing experience in a related industry.
• Negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in sourcing software is an added advantage.
• English, Chinese, and Malay language proficiency; additional language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze demand forecast and develop purchase forecast based on market and logistic conditions.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure no production impact with minimal holding cost.
• Assess material cost competitiveness and timeliness; plan improvement activities.
• Provide accurate price listings on a periodic basis.
• Source and collect data of potential suppliers; review quotations and contracts.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to ensure material quality and requirements.
• Manage and maintain Approved Vendor List; evaluate vendor performance.
• Monitor compliance with procurement targets and guidelines.
• Support procurement issues with data analysis and corrective actions.

Analyze demand forecast and develop purchase forecast based on current market and logistic situation.

Monitor inventory levels of materials under Procurement responsibility to ensure no impact to production and with minimal holding cost.

Monitor and assess direct and indirect material cost competitiveness and timeliness, plan and carry out improvement activities.

Provide accurate price listing updates on a periodic basis.

Source and collect data of potential suppliers that fulfil procurement requirements.

Review quotations and purchase contracts to fulfill procurement specifications and requirements.

Coordinate with Vendor and internal departments to review the quality and requirement of material and services based on product details and customers’ needs.

Manage and maintain Approve Vendor List based on collective report, feedback, and periodic evaluations on the Vendor’s performance.

Monitor compliances of organization’s procurement targets.

Justify and implement the accurate exemptions applicable to product or services according to the latest requirement and guideline.

Participate and respond to Procurement related issues by performing data analysis and proposal of corrective actions and preventive actions.

Requirement

Bachelor's degree in business management, procurement, supply chain management, or in a related field.
