Job summary

BMECH ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. in Sarawak, Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead planning, supplier evaluation, tendering, and contract negotiations for construction projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in construction/engineering.
• Experience handling construction materials, subcontractors, and project-based procurement.
• Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and contractors).
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and sourcing practices.
• Experience in contract negotiation, tendering, and vendor management.
• Familiar with project procurement processes and site requirements.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and cost control skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• High integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and execute procurement strategies aligned with construction project timelines.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers for construction projects.
• Manage tendering processes, bid evaluation, and contract award.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and project efficiency.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and services to project sites.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams on procurement needs.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Track and control procurement budgets and project costs.
• Maintain proper documentation of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier records.
• Identify alternative materials or suppliers to optimize cost and lead time.
• Resolve procurement-related issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
• Lead and supervise the procurement team to meet project and company objectives.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.
