BMECH ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. in Sarawak, Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead planning, supplier evaluation, tendering, and contract negotiations for construction projects.
You will drive timely procurement of materials and services, collaborate with project teams, and manage budgets and supplier performance to ensure project success. The role requires 3–5 years of procurement experience in construction/engineering, fluent English/Mandarin/Bahasa Malaysia, and strong negotiation and
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the construction / engineering industry
Proven experience handling construction materials, subcontractors, and project-based procurement
Proficient in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and contractors)
Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and sourcing practices
Experience in contract negotiation, tendering, and vendor management
Familiar with project procurement processes and site requirements
Strong negotiation, analytical, and cost control skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
Plan, develop, and execute procurement strategies aligned with construction project timelines
Source and evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers for construction projects
Manage tendering processes, bid evaluation, and contract award
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and project efficiency
Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and services to project sites
Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams on procurement needs
Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance, ensuring quality and compliance
Track and control procurement budgets and project costs
Maintain proper documentation of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier records
Identify alternative materials or suppliers to optimize cost and lead time
Resolve procurement-related issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns
Lead and supervise the procurement team to meet project and company objectives
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.
