Job summary

SLL Machinery Hardware in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a purchasing assistant to support the Purchasing Manager in sourcing products for retail stores and manage order processing.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; Mandarin is required to liaise with China suppliers, and you should have strong organizational and communication skills with a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in a related field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar).
• Able to speak and write in Mandarin due to PIC needing to liaise with China supplier.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Purchasing Manager/Buyer in sourcing and selecting products for retail stores.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with reordering to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Compare supplier prices and negotiate basic terms when required.
• Coordinate with warehouse and store teams regarding deliveries and discrepancies.
• Resolve issues related to damaged or incorrect shipments.
• Support vendor performance evaluation and maintain supplier database.
• Prepare purchasing reports and analyze basic sales and inventory data.
