Job summary

SLL Machinery Hardware is seeking a purchasing assistant in Ipoh, Malaysia. The role supports the Purchasing Manager with sourcing, supplier communications, order processing, and inventory control to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma, Mandarin proficiency for China supplier liaison, and strong organizational and communication skills. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in a related field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar).
• Ability to speak and write in Mandarin due to liaising with China supplier.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Purchasing Manager in sourcing and selecting products for retail stores.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policies.
• Communicate with suppliers on pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
• Track orders and ensure timely merchandise delivery.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with reordering to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Compare supplier prices and negotiate basic terms when required.
• Coordinate with warehouse and store teams on deliveries and discrepancies.
• Resolve issues related to damaged or incorrect shipments.
• Support supplier performance evaluation and maintain supplier database.
• Prepare purchasing reports and analyze basic sales and inventory data.
