Job summary

Jora Malaysia in Selangor is seeking a purchasing professional to manage sourcing, supplier relations and cost control. Fluency in Mandarin is required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients, with English and Bahasa Malaysia as additional languages.

Candidates should have a Diploma or equivalent and about two years of buying experience. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential to drive timely delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Mandarin is required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients; English and Bahasa Malaysia are also used.
• At least a Diploma or equivalent with 2 years purchasing experience or equivalent.
• Strong negotiation, oral and written communication skills across levels.
• Good teamwork, adaptable, and able to handle changing conditions.
• Demonstrated leadership in driving teamwork and resolving conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Determining, implementing and monitoring purchasing, storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans.
• Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analysis.
• Review quality of purchased products.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
• Monitor storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and place orders as needed.
• Record order details into internal databases and maintain updated records.
• Liaise with China suppliers to ensure purchase quality, quantity, delivery and price is correct.
• Collaborate with warehouse and other departments for outward goods and forwarding.
• Oversee recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions.
• Plan and direct daily operations within budget controls.

• Review quality of purchased products
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery
• Negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements;
• Monitoring and reviewing storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements, and control stock levels and place orders as needed
• Operating recording systems to track all movements of goods, and ensuring reordering and restocking at optimal times;
• Record order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
• Maintain updated records of purchased products
• Liaise with local/oversea especially from China suppliers to ensure that purchase quality, quantity, delivery and price is correct.
• Liaising with other departments (warehouse) and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation;
• Overseeing the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions;
• Establishing and managing budgets, controlling expenditure and ensuring the efficient use of resources;
• Planning and directing daily operations
