Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a purchasing professional in Malaysia to join our team. The role requires Mandarin fluency to interact with Mandarin-speaking clients, plus proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

A minimum of a SPM, Diploma, or equivalent certificate is required, with at least two years of purchasing experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation and communication skills, be adaptable, and demonstrate leadership in driving teamwork and resolving conflicts.

Qualifications

• Must speak Mandarin fluently to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Candidate must have at least a SPM, Diploma, or an equivalent certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience or equivalent for this role.

Responsibilities

• Determine, implement and monitor purchasing, storage and distribution strategies and plans.
• Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analysis.
• Review quality of purchased products and track orders for timely delivery.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
• Monitor storage/inventory systems, control stock levels, and place orders as needed.
• Liaise with local/overseas suppliers (especially from China) to ensure purchase quality and price.
• Coordinate with warehouse and other departments on outward goods and forwarding transport.
• Maintain records of purchases and manage budgets and daily operations.

Responsibility

• Determining, implementing and monitoring purchasing, storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans;
• Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analysis
• Review quality of purchased products
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery
• Negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements;
• Monitoring and reviewing storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements, and control stock levels and place orders as needed
• Operating recording systems to track all movements of goods, and ensuring reordering and restocking at optimal times;
• Record order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
• Maintain updated records of purchased products
• Liaise with local/oversea especially from China suppliers to ensure that purchase quality, quantity, delivery and price is correct.
• Liaising with other departments (warehouse) and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation;
• Overseeing the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions;
• Establishing and managing budgets, controlling expenditure and ensuring the efficient use of resources;
• Planning and directing daily operations
