Mi Equipment in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing activities, from requisitions to vendor negotiations and timely delivery of orders.

Prepare and issue purchase orders based on purchase requisitions and ensure the timely follow-up with vendors for expected delivery dates (ETD)
Sourcing and negotiate for the most competitive price in terms of quality, price, payment terms, deliveries and services with vendors
Track and monitor the ETD of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery to meet target ETD requirements
Handle order discrepancies, returns, and resolve any issues related to product quality or delivery
Maintain accurate records in the system, including stock items, supplier pricing, and supplier details
Ensure that all procurement data is up-to-date, accurate, and compliant with company standards
Prepare daily purchasing reports, providing accurate and timely data on orders, deliveries, and any discrepancies
Follow up with vendors on ETD for Returned Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) and require vendor provide the root cause and correction action
Collaborate with others departments such as finance, production, and warehouse teams to understand and anticipate purchasing needs
Participate in supplier audits to assess and ensure that suppliers meet the company's quality, compliance, and performance standards
Continuously develop and improve the procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure high-quality products.
Adhere to all company procurement procedures, policies, and compliance regulations to ensure consistency and transparency in purchasing activities
Undertake other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned by the Company from time to time with on time full closure
Additional Responsibilities:
Ability to work independently.
Provide guidance and mentoring to procurement executive as necessary to support their development.
Take on more complex procurement tasks and vendor negotiations.
Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement strategies.
Job Requirements
A bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent work experience of at least 2 years' experience in supplies quality and development.
Specific experience in metal fabrication and mechanical engineering preferred.
Required language(s): English, Malay and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking suppliers
Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Office application
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and extra hours, including weekend, if required
Positive working attitude and able to communicate to all levels
Responsible and proactive
