Behn Meyer Agricare (M) Sdn Bhd in Sandakan, Sabah, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the Fertilizer Division’s day-to-day activities, ensuring efficient production, inventory control, and safe, compliant operations.

You will coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics and Finance, lead a skilled operations team, monitor costs, and drive productivity while maintaining quality standards across the site.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
5+ years in fertilizer/agriculture/manufacturing/logistics operations.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to plan, coordinate production, inventory and costs.
Experience with ERP or inventory management systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Oversee Fertilizer Division operations in Sandakan Branch.
Plan production, blending, packing, storage and delivery activities.
Ensure safe, efficient processes compliant with policies.
Monitor schedules, inventory, manpower, and resources.
Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics and Finance.
Maintain machinery, equipment, facilities and site upkeep.
Drive cost efficiency and productivity, monitor KPIs.
Ensure safety, environmental, quality and regulatory compliance.
Lead, coach and develop the operations team.

Behn Meyer Agricare (M) Sdn Bhd is looking for a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Sandakan, Sabah. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Fertilizer Division, ensuring efficient production, inventory management, logistics coordination, quality standards, and overall operational performance.

Key responsibilities

Manage and oversee the overall operations of the Fertilizer Division at the Sandakan Branch
Plan and coordinate fertilizer production, blending, packing, storage, and delivery activities
Ensure operational processes are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company policies and procedures
Monitor production schedules, manpower requirements, inventory levels, and resource utilization
Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, Finance, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth operations
Monitor stock movement, raw materials, finished goods, and inventory accuracy
Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of machinery, equipment, facilities, and operational areas
Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities to improve productivity and cost efficiency
Ensure compliance with occupational safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements
Lead, coach, and develop the operations team to achieve business and operational objectives

About you

Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in fertilizer, agriculture, manufacturing, plantation, logistics, or a related industry
Experience in managing production, warehouse, logistics, or plant operations will be an added advantage
Strong leadership, people management, and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of operational planning, inventory control, and cost management
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work independently and make sound operational decisions
Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP or inventory management systems
Willing to be based in Sandakan, Sabah
