Job summary

Farmcochem Sdn. Bhd. in Ipoh is seeking an Assistant Production Planner to support our plant operations.

You will help plan production, ensure material availability and collaborate with Sales, Production, Procurement, Quality, Warehouse and Maintenance to meet customer demands. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Degree in a related field, has 1–2 years of production planning experience or internships, and is proficient in Excel with familiarity to ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in production planning or a related manufacturing role; fresh graduates with internship are welcome.
• Good Excel skills; exposure to ERP/MRP is an advantage.
• Organized, detail-oriented and eager to learn.
• Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English; willing to be based in Ipoh.

Responsibilities

• Plan what to produce and pack, and when, to meet customer orders on time while optimizing plant capacity.
• Ensure raw materials, packaging and manpower are available; coordinate with Procurement and Production to address shortfalls.
• Monitor production against the plan and flag risks like material shortages or downtime early to adjust schedules.
• Act as a link between Production, QC and Warehouse on batch release, stock movement and shelf-life control.
• Contribute to reports on schedule achievement, on-time delivery, capacity and manpower utilization, and stock health.

About us

We are a Malaysian agricultural company with more than four decades in the industry. We manufacture and supply a range of agrochemicals, fertilizers and specialty products to plantations and growers across Malaysia. We are growing, and we are looking for an Assistant Production Planner to support our Ipoh plant as we grow.

The role

Reporting to the Production Planner, you will help ensure the plant produces the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time. You will work closely with Sales, Production, Procurement, Quality, Warehouse and Maintenance.

Key responsibilities

Planning and scheduling

Help plan what to produce and pack, and when, so that customer orders are met on time while making the best use of plant capacity and keeping changeovers to a minimum.

Ensure raw materials, packaging and manpower are available to meet the plan, working with Procurement and Production to resolve shortfalls.

Support seasonal build plans and safety stock levels ahead of peak planting periods.

Execution and coordination

Maintain accurate work orders and planning data in the company ERP system.

Monitor production against the plan, and highlight risks such as material shortages, machine downtime or quality holds early so schedules can be adjusted.

Act as a link between Production, QC and Warehouse on batch release, stock movement and shelf-life control.

Reporting and improvement

Prepare reports on schedule achievement, on-time delivery, capacity and manpower utilisation, and stock health, including slow-moving and near-expiry items.

Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives in planning and production.

Quality and safety

Plan in line with ISO 9001 procedures and site requirements for storing and handling chemicals.

Uphold the company’s safety, health and environmental standards.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or a related field.

1–2 years of experience in production planning or a related manufacturing role. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are welcome to apply.

Good Excel skills. Exposure to ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.

Organized, detail-oriented and eager to learn.

Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Willing to be based in Ipoh.
