Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day progress of assigned tasks with daily updates and reporting.
• Handle customer inquiries, orders, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Negotiate freight procurement and pricing with liners, agents and overseas partners.
• Process export/import documentation and coordinate freight movements.
• Prepare and verify invoices and vendor billing; open new jobs in the system.
• Coordinate transportation, forwarding and haulage; liaise with internal and external teams.

Portlogics Global Malaysia Sdn Bhd, part of a Korea-headquartered global logistics company, is expanding its presence in Malaysia. With our Malaysia office currently based in Ara Damansara, Selangor, we are growing our operations with a new branch in Kolombong, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

As part of this expansion, we are seeking an experienced professional to join our growing team in Kota Kinabalu. Candidates must currently reside in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, or be willing to relocate to Kota Kinabalu for this position.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Freight Procurement/Pricing, Ocean Export, Customer Service, and Import Operations.

This is a full-time role where you will play a key role in delivering excellent service and operational support to our export and import clients, ensuring smooth logistics operations and maintaining strong customer relationships.

What you’ll be doing

Manage day-to-day job progress as per assigned tasks (daily updating and reporting of job progress)

Manage and respond to customer inquiries, orders, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.

Freight Procurement/Pricing (rate negotiation with liners, agent and overseas partners)

Process export documentation and assist with the coordination of freight movements (Placing Booking with liner’s website, submission of Shipping Instruction liner’s website, updating VGM into liner’s website, track and trace shipment, etc).

Process import documentation and assist with the coordination of freight movements (track and trace shipment, request NOA, invoice from vendors/liners, prepare LOI/LOA, follow-up with respective parties, etc).

Process billing to customers and verify vendor invoices.

Open job creation in the system

Arranging and coordinating for transportation, forwarding and haulage arrangements.

Liaise with internal teams and external parties to ensure the smooth delivery of export and import shipments.

Provide regular updates and status reports to customers.

Identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience and improve operational efficiency.

Undertake other jobs/assignments that are assigned by the Management.

What we’re looking for

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Logistics or equivalent.

At least 3-5 years of working experience in a freight forwarding or logistics industry.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and vendors.

Excellent multitasking skills to judge competing priorities.

Good knowledge of export and import documentation, logistics processes and incoterms.

Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and port operations will be an added advantage.

A good team player with a positive, good attitude and strong work commitment.

Able to start on short notice will be an advantage.

Possess own transport and be willing to travel as required (for business trips - meet up with vendors and clients).

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
