Job summary

Farmland Bakery (M) Sdn Bhd invites a procurement professional to oversee the sourcing of materials, spare parts, and services for production rectifications. You will manage indirect purchases, maintain strong vendor relationships, and ensure on-time deliveries within budget.

With 2–3 years in manufacturing procurement, you will excel in negotiation, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in procurement, supply chain management, or business administration.
• Engineering background in electrical/mechanical is a plus.
• 2–3 years in purchasing/procurement in manufacturing or production.
• Strong negotiation and vendor-management abilities.
• Able to work under pressure and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Engineering on procurement of materials, spare parts, and services for rectification works.
• Source and purchase indirect materials and services per operational requirements, budget, and cost objectives.
• Prepare and liaise with forwarders and transporters for overseas and local export/import shipments.
• Compare and evaluate price and specifications; monitor delivery schedules from vendors and collect internal feedback.
• Maintain good supplier relationships, monitor performance, renegotiate contracts, and source backup suppliers.
• Review purchasing requirements to ensure timely procurement and avoid supply shortages.
• Liaise with Warehouse to ensure timely receipt of goods and assist in inventory management.
• Prepare purchasing reports and maintain records of purchasing/shipping documents for audits.

Job description

Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Candidates with an Engineering background (Electrical/Mechanical) or relevant technical knowledge will have an added advantage.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a similar role. Candidates with relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment may also be considered.

Strong negotiation, vendor management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Result-oriented, proactive, and capable of multitasking and working under pressure

Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Engineering Department on the procurement of required materials, spare parts, and services for rectification works.

Source and purchase indirect materials and services in accordance with operational requirements, budget, and cost objectives.

Prepare and liaise with forwarders and transporters for overseas and local export and import shipments

Compare and evaluate price and specifications; monitor delivery schedule from vendors, including getting feedback from internal stakeholders

Maintain good working relationships with vendors, monitor their performance, renegotiate contracts, and source backup suppliers

Review purchasing requirements and relevant data to ensure timely procurement and avoid supply shortages.

Liaise with the Warehouse team to ensure timely receipt of goods, resolve discrepancies, and assist in inventory management.

Prepare purchasing reports and maintain accurate records of purchasing and shipping documents for audit purposes, and perform other administrative duties as assigned by management.
