Private Advertiser is seeking a hands-on Procurement Manager for bakery ingredients with halal expertise in Malaysia. You will source ingredients, manage supplier relationships, and ensure JAKIM halal certification across local and overseas suppliers.

You will coordinate imports, lead supplier evaluations, and work with QA, R&D, production and warehouse teams on forecasts, stock, and new outlets. Strong Excel and ERP experience are essential.

Qualificações

• Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Food Science or Business.
• 8+ years in procurement with 2–3 years in supervision.
• Hands-on bakery/food-manufacturing ingredient sourcing.
• Knowledge of Malaysian halal certification (JAKIM) and related docs.
• Experience importing ingredients and related documentation.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with Japanese suppliers.

Responsabilidades

• Source bakery ingredients including flour, butter, dairy, chocolate, yeast, premixes, fillings, flavourings and additives, plus packaging and consumables.
• Ensure halal certification validity and maintain certificate register.
• Plan with QA, R&D, Production and Warehouse on forecasts and stock.
• Evaluate suppliers, negotiate price, lead time, and terms.
• Coordinate overseas purchases with forwarders and internal teams.
• Maintain purchasing records and resolve PO/GRN/invoice discrepancies.

Procurement Manager - Bakery Ingredients (Halal)

We are an established Japanese bakery business with a central kitchen and multiple outlets in the Klang Valley. We are looking for a hands-on Procurement Manager who knows bakery ingredients well and can source halal-certified materials reliably, from both local and overseas suppliers.

What you will do

Source bakery ingredients:flour, butter, dairy, chocolate, yeast, premixes, fillings, flavourings and additives, plus packaging and consumables.

Halal compliance:ensure every ingredient and supplier has valid halal certification (JAKIM or a JAKIM-recognised body), keep a certificate register, track expiry dates and flag high-risk items such as emulsifiers, shortening, gelatine, enzymes and flavourings.

Ingredient changes:make sure no new or substitute ingredient is purchased until QA and halal review are complete.

Supplier development:find, evaluate and negotiate with local and overseas suppliers on price, MOQ, lead time and payment terms.

Imports:coordinate overseas purchases, including Japanese ingredients, with forwarders and internal teams.

Planning:work with the Production, R&D, QA and Warehouse teams on samples, trials, forecasts, stock levels and new-outlet openings.

Cost control:track price movements, compare quotations and report spending and savings.

Team and systems:guide the Procurement Executive, keep purchasing records accurate and resolve PO, GRN and invoice discrepancies issue.

What we are looking for

Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Food Science, Business or a related field.

At least 8 years in procurement, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Required: hands-on bakery or food-manufacturing ingredient sourcing experience.

Required: working knowledge of Malaysian halal certification (JAKIM) and halal supplier documentation.

Experience importing ingredients and handling the related documentation.

Comfortable reading ingredient specifications and working with Japanese chef, R&D and QA.

Strong in Excel; experience with ERP or purchasing systems.

Advantage: experience with Japanese ingredient suppliers

Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
