Job summary

PMG Healthcare Sdn. Bhd. in Mukah, Sarawak invites a dedicated Medical Officer to join our team.

This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality primary healthcare, managing both acute and chronic conditions, and supporting the wellbeing of the diverse communities we serve. You will conduct comprehensive consultations, maintain accurate records, collaborate with nurses and specialists, and stay current with medical guidelines.

Qualifications

• A recognised medical degree (MD, MBBS or equivalent qualification) from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency in Malay, English and Mandarin language.
• Relevant experience working as a General Practitioner or Medical Officer in a primary care setting.
• Strong clinical knowledge and competency in diagnosing and managing common medical conditions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is advantageous.
• Professional demeanour, integrity and commitment to patient confidentiality and medical ethics.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment and manage time effectively.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make clinical decisions with limited resources when necessary.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and continued medical education

Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive patient consultations, including taking detailed medical histories and performing thorough physical examinations
• Diagnosing acute and chronic medical conditions and prescribing appropriate treatment plans
• Managing a diverse caseload of patients across all age groups with various medical presentations
• Providing preventative healthcare advice and health education to patients and their families
• Referring patients to specialist services when appropriate and coordinating their care
• Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborating with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
• Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as clinically indicated
• Responding to medical emergencies and providing emergency care when required
• Staying current with medical developments and best practice guidelines within general practice
