Job summary

Qualifications

• Medical degree MBBS or equivalent recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council.
• Proficiency in Malay, English and Mandarin.
• Completion of housemanship or equivalent postgraduate training.
• Experience in primary healthcare or general practice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations, medical examinations and diagnostics to assess health conditions and determine treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines.
• Manage acute and chronic diseases with ongoing patient care and monitoring.
• Perform preventive healthcare services including health screening and immunisations.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Refer patients to specialist care or hospital facilities when necessary.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives within the community.
• Stay abreast of medical advancements and maintain professional competence through continuous learning.
• Comply with healthcare regulations and organisational policies.

About the role

PMG Healthcare Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Tatau, Sarawak. As a Medical Officer, you will be at the forefront of patient care, providing comprehensive medical services, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals and families across all age groups. Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient consultations, medical examinations and diagnostics to assess health conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans
• Prescribe medications and medical treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines and best practices
• Manage acute and chronic diseases, providing ongoing patient care and monitoring
• Perform preventive healthcare services including health screening, immunisations and health education
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records for all patients in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Refer patients to specialist care or hospital facilities when necessary, ensuring continuity of care
• Collaborate with nursing staff, allied health professionals and administrative teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives within the local community
• Stay abreast of medical advancements and maintain professional competence through continuous learning
• Comply with all healthcare regulations, professional codes of conduct and organisational policies

What we're looking for

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council
• Proficiency in Malay, English and Mandarin language
• Completion of housemanship or equivalent postgraduate training as required by local regulations
• Strong clinical knowledge and practical experience in primary healthcare or general practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact compassionately with diverse patient populations
• Proficiency in English and Malay; knowledge of local languages is advantageous
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment whilst managing independent clinical decision-making
• Strong commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical medical practice
• Willingness to undertake professional development and stay updated with medical advancements
• Previous experience in primary healthcare or general practice settings is preferred
