Qualifications

• MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Valid medical registration and licence to practise in Malaysia.
• Proven experience as a General Practitioner, ideally in a primary healthcare setting.
• Strong clinical knowledge in general medicine, emergency care and preventative healthcare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
• Proficiency in English, Mandarin & Malay; Mandarin proficiency preferred to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills to manage high patient volumes.
• Cultural sensitivity and understanding of local healthcare needs and community dynamics.
• Commitment to professional ethics, patient confidentiality and continuing medical education.

Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive patient consultations, medical examinations and assessments
• Diagnosing acute and chronic medical conditions and prescribing appropriate treatments
• Providing preventative healthcare advice, health education and wellness guidance to patients
• Managing patient medical records accurately and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations
• Referring patients to specialist services when necessary and coordinating care with other healthcare providers
• Performing minor surgical procedures and emergency medical interventions as required
• Administering vaccinations and immunisations as per public health guidelines
• Monitoring chronic disease management and conducting follow-up consultations
• Maintaining professional standards, staying current with medical advancements and engaging in continuous professional development
• Contributing to the efficient operation of the medical practice and collaborating with nursing and administrative staff

About the role We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our healthcare team at our facility in Bau, Sarawak. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care in the local community. As a General Practitioner, you will be the cornerstone of primary healthcare delivery, providing comprehensive medical services, diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care to patients of all ages. This role is pivotal in ensuring accessible, quality healthcare and serves as the first point of contact for patients seeking medical assistance.

Key responsibilities

What we're looking for
