About the role

PMG Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Bintulu, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering quality primary care services to our patients. As a Medical Officer, you will be at the frontline of patient care, providing comprehensive medical services, diagnostics, and treatment to individuals and families within our community. This position is essential to our mission of improving health outcomes and maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting thorough patient consultations, medical histories, and physical examinations
• Diagnosing acute and chronic medical conditions using clinical acumen and evidence-based practice
• Prescribing and managing medications, ensuring appropriate dosage and monitoring for adverse effects
• Performing minor medical procedures including wound management, injections, and basic diagnostic tests
• Referring patients to specialist care when necessary and coordinating continuity of care
• Maintaining comprehensive and accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Providing health education and preventative care advice to patients
• Collaborating with nursing staff and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participating in health promotion campaigns and community outreach initiatives
• Adhering to clinical protocols, infection control measures, and occupational health and safety standards
• Contributing to the ongoing improvement of clinical services and patient satisfaction

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor's degree in Medicine (MBBS) or equivalent medical qualification recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council
• Full registration and valid practising licence with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)
• Completion of mandatory housemanship training or equivalent clinical experience
• Strong clinical knowledge and competency in general medical practice and primary care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse patient populations
• Ability to manage multiple patients efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of care
• Proficiency in Malay, English and Mandarin language
• Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities in time-sensitive situations
• Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to medical ethics
• Willingness to work in a community healthcare setting and engage with local populations
• Preferably, previous experience working in primary care, general practice, or community health settings
• Knowledge of common health conditions prevalent in the local region would be advantageous
