Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent.
• Current MMC registration or equivalent regulatory eligibility.
• Completion of one year of internship/housemanship or equivalent clinical experience.
• Excellent clinical knowledge in general practice/primary care.
• Strong communication and teamwork with diverse patient groups.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient consultations and medical histories.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions in general practice.
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans based on evidence-based practice.

About the role

PMG Healthcare Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our commitment to excellent medical services. As a Medical Officer, you will be at the forefront of our clinical operations, providing direct patient care, making clinical diagnoses, and contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of our patient population. This role is integral to maintaining the standards of care that PMG Healthcare is known for across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient consultations, including taking comprehensive medical histories and performing physical examinations
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions within general practice settings
• Prescribe appropriate medications and treatment plans based on clinical assessment and evidence-based practices
• Provide preventative care advice, health education and health promotion to patients
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patient encounters
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and allied health workers, to ensure coordinated patient care
• Manage medical emergencies and provide appropriate referrals to specialist services when necessary
• Adhere to all relevant clinical guidelines, protocols and regulatory requirements in medical practice
• Participate in continuous professional development and stay updated with current medical advancements
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and help maintain high standards of clinical practice

What we're looking for

• Valid medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent) recognised by the relevant medical regulatory authorities
• Current and valid registration with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) or equivalent regulatory body
• Completion of one year of mandatory medical internship or housemanship, or equivalent clinical experience
• Excellent clinical knowledge and competency in general practice and primary care medicine
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional language skills are advantageous
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Strong organisational and time management skills to manage patient schedules and clinical responsibilities
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to medical ethics and professional standards
• Prior experience in general practice, primary healthcare, or family medicine is preferred
• Possession of relevant postgraduate qualifications or certifications in general practice or related fields is advantageous
